Description
Copy letter reporting successful sale of US book rights for Crockett's Grey Galloway to Dodd, Mead & Co. Also confirms Watt secured Dodd Mead's agreement to pay £100 towards Pennell's illustration costs; Watt attempted to obtain £150 (halving H&S payment) but Dodd argued the book would not sell as well in the US and that £100 was a fair sum. Watt expresses confidence this is the best achievable and asks Nicoll's approval. Preceded by the 23 March postscript in which Watt first reported approaching Doubleday & McClure.
