SRC to Mr Gray
Dublin Core
Title
SRC to Mr Gray
Type
Letter
Description
Written wholly in Scots to a friend. Declines an invitation, citing the crushing dual burden of Kirk ministry and literary work, comparing himself to a bankrupt unable to face his debts; must rise before dawn simply to manage. Thanks Gray warmly for kind words and, in a moment of confidential humour, admits a fondness for 'Leeb McLurg' (a character in Stickit Minister). PS notes he intends to be in London with Dr Nicoll throughout March.
