T. Fisher Unwin (Thomas Fisher Unwin, 1848–1935)
Son of printer Jacob Unwin (founder of Unwin Brothers and the Gresham Press) Thomas founded the influential publishing house T. Fisher Unwin in 1882. He established a highly competitive firm with a reputation for discovering and marketing promising new authors. His catalogue included the first six of Crockett’s works, first novels of Joseph Conrad (Almayer's Folly, 1895) and John Buchan (Sir Quixote of the Moors, 1895. He co-founded The Publishers Association (1896).
